frequently asked questions

  • Currently, the ink particles are too large for the body to remove. The laser breaks down the ink particles into smaller pieces, so your immune system can slowly remove the particles through your body’s natural waste system.

Due to this, it’s important to look after your body throughout the process for optimal results. Drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, avoid smoking and alcohol etc.

  • Treatment prices for tattoo removal will depend on a number of things; the size, ink density, and ink colours used. Ace offers the safest, most affordable and reputable laser tattoo removal in Australia, with sessions starting from just $80. All of our consultations and quotes are obligation free. We encourage you to visit your local Ace Tattoo Removal laser technician to find out more!

  • We believe in maintaining complete transparency with our clients, as well as providing quality results. This means we provide realistic expectations on how many sessions we think you’ll require throughout the process. It’s important to note that all tattoos are different and will all fade at a different rate.
The number of treatments needed will be determined by size, age, location, ink colour and depth of the tattoo - there’s a lot of variables!
On average, full removal can be achieved with 5-8 treatments and lightening for a cover up will require less. Sessions are required once every 6-8 weeks and are very quick. Small tattoos can take less than a minute, while larger tattoos can take up to 5 minutes.

  • Black and red inks will lighten the best. Oranges and purples usually naturally lighten over time, whereas blue, green and yellow inks are the most difficult to remove and additional treatments are sometimes needed to produce significant fading. We treat all tattoos with the highest quality laser tattoo removal equipment available, allowing us to lighten all colours.

  • In most cases, yes. If the tattoo is heavily pigmented with many layers of ink from multiple cover ups, it can be harder to restore your skin to how it was. However, each client’s removal journey is different and requires a unique laser tattoo removal plan.

  • Unfortunately, it’s not a walk in the park. However, everyone’s pain threshold is different.
We offer ice packs and a Zimmer cooling system before, during and after the treatment to minimalize discomfort. Numbing cream is also an option, however, can reduce the effectiveness of the laser.
Thankfully, our lasers are incredibly fast, and our team is very efficient, so our treatments aren’t any longer than a few minutes, at most.

  • Unfortunately not, it’s important to allow two weeks before and after treatment, for the safety of your skin. This applies to fake tan, sun exposure and tanning agents such as Melanotan. As the laser is attracted to pigment, we need to ensure that the treatment targets the ink pigments as much as possible.
Going against these guidelines can result in permanent pigmentation changes of the skin.

  • At Ace Tattoo Removal we use Medlite C6 Q-Switch by Cynosure, which is the gold standard in laser tattoo removal.
The Medlite C6 is a multiwavelength system used to treat all colours, whilst delivering consistent results. It utilises Nano-second technology to hit the ink harder, ensuring faster results over most Pico-second lasers.

It’s important to follow all instructions carefully to ensure that your laser treatment is successful, and your skin heals optimally.
